stop dog jumping couch

She may not be getting enough exercise. Do you walk her regularly? Usually a tired dog won't dig. Does she have several toys and chewys to play with too, she may be bored and restless and this is her outlet. I notice a difference in my dog when I don't exercise her, she's get's into alot more stuff and she's a digger too.

dog territorial aggression

She is very bored, my GSD puppy dug a million holes over the course of only a few hours being left alone. It's annoying, I know! A couple things I would try that worked for me.
1) put her stools in a hole she has dug and put Chile powder or red pepper flakes in as well. The first time my pup got a whiff of that he was not happy! After a couple times he had enough and stopped after that.
2) I have also made sure he was so tired by the time I left he didn't possibly have the energy to dig.

The first one should work, hopefully, it worked for my obsessed digger!

Your dog is bored and is looking for ways to be stimulated. All dogs need exercise to vent their energy...I bet if you took him for a daily walk for at least 45 mins you would find that he wouldn't have the urge to perform destructive type behaviors. I also love the Kong for dogs. Depending on the size of your dog you can fill it with peanut butter or treats and it will keep you dog occupied for hours hopefully curbing the digging! Good Luck!

stop dog from eating poop

First off if your dog breed is built for hunting and digging then that is its nature. And its hard to break the nature of that. The dog could be trying to get a hidden bone, or dead something. My dog (a dachshund) sometimes digs when it sees a worm in the ground. They usually dig because there is a scent or something they are interested in.

What I have done before and worked for me. was everytime I when out I would put treats in a spot I didn't mind the dog digging. Now he only digs in that one spot. The con to this is for some dogs it might incourage digging. Try some toys like kongs. They work wonders for bored dogs.

Also taking your dog for a walk before you go out may help too.

Give her something mentally stimulating to do. It must be more fun over at the neighbors.
