Okay , we have a dog that spends 98% of his time INSIDE. Our children & myself play with & love him. We recently rescued another dog, who he loves, to play w/ him also. BUT...he escapes!!
My husband spent 4 hrs in the HOT TX sun fixing the holes in the fences, filling the holes in the ground w/ rock & dirt. He STILL escapes!!!
What about that?!

A Bark Collar is a safe, effective and humane way to train your dog not to bark too much. Clinical studies conducted by the College of Veterinary medicine of Cornell University have proven that Spray Bark Collars are TWICE as effective as shock collars! Sonic dog barking collars are virtually ineffective compared to spray.

My dog USED to dig because there was a gopher in the backyard and she thought it was fun. So, when your dog digs put his leash on him, and tie him up to a pole away from where he digs... He will keep crying but don't worry, eventually he will stop and learn his lesson. Tie him up for 15 minutes, if it doesn't work the first day then probably the second or third but no more. I did this to my dog and now she knows not to dig even though her breed is a type of digger breed.
---Good luck!

digging holes is completely normal why dont you just make it so that someone is watching him at all times because someone is soppose to be watching a dog anyway because if it escapes it could get taken to the pound so i would take him out side and keep him busy and then he will stop digging holes.

well our dog used to dig holes A LOT! So we took her "duty" and filled the holes with it, and she hasn't dug that much since. Try that or Tabasco sauce and that should keep the dog from digging. You could also maybe just use more rocks to block off the WHOLE area, but I still think the other method I mentioned would work better! Also, try giving him another spot to dig, like his own little fenced off area if nothing else works. I hope one of these methods help! I'd **** to have to give my dog away for digging!

-good luck!

Amber is right - if you put their ***** in the hole before filling it back up, they usually won't dig there again. Another suggestion is to provide a "sandbox" where the dog is allowed to dig - hide his/her favorite toys in it and encourage the dog to dig there and there only.

<a href="http://www.mydogtraining-101.com/dog-behavior-problems/how-to-control-dog-food-aggression/">dog pack aggression</a>

Well, my dogs dig because they are hot. They dont spend much time outside, but when they do, they dig. All of my babies are spoiled and live indoors. But GIVING him away is just wrong. If I got rid of my dogs for digging, I would never have another dog. Every dog I have ever had has done it. I just go fill the holes in when they are done to prevent me, the kids, or anyone else from getting hurt. But, I also have a section in my yard I allow digging. My dogs know that. They dig were I say. Seriously, I tell them its bad to dig here, lets go dig over in your spot. I take a rake and start scratching at the ground a little, and they do the rest. Ok, so my dogs are soooooooo very spoiled. I know. They are my furry babies.
